I love a good blizzard!

Well, “Nemo” definitely found his way to New England [side note: I’m not really sure how I feel about naming blizzards, but I am definitely riding this Nemo wave]. I was planning on coming home for the weekend anyway, so when BSU gave us a snow day yesterday, my dad came down in the morning to pick me up. Here in the Merrimack Valley we got an average of 2 feet of the white stuff. Some places got more, some got less.

I think I made the right call in deciding to weather the storm at home with my family rather that stick it out in the dorms. Bridgewater State lost power last night, and according to what I can tell from friends and Twitter, it’s still not on. Also, I hear that they’re running out of food in the dining halls? That’s definitely not good.

On the other hand, my house is toasty warm and we haven’t lost power once. Yesterday and today have been spent curled up next to the fire, watching movies and consuming copious amounts of junk food with my mom. Blizzard, schmizzard…we’re in heaven! Meanwhile, the menfolk were sent outside to snowblow us out of this mess. I am definitely grateful for that!

Below, I’ve put together some pictures that my mom took of my sister trying to walk our dog, Madison, earlier. Whenever the weather gets bad, the show dog in Maddy comes out. God forbid snow mess up her hair or she smell like wet dog. The snow was over Madison’s head, so Hannah had to actually carry her around!

Were you hit by the storm? How much snow did you get? Do you still have power? Leave it in the comments!

The last few days

Untitled

I have been spending the last few days at home, chilling with my family and relaxing. The combination of winter break and Christmastime has been great!

I’ve loved spending time with my dog, Maddy! I miss her so much when I go to school, and it’s great to get some puppy time in.

My sister played a show the other day at Brew’d Awakening, a coffee shop in Lowell, and she is a total rockstar! Check her out here on Youtube playing her original “Love Lied”…it’s amazing!

What have you been up to lately?

Maddy’s big day out in the city!

Being on spring break, I’ve been spending a lot of time with my dog.  She’s a totally goofball, but I love her because of it.  I was at my mom’s office the other day, and one of her coworkers asked if I could bring Madison into the bank to say hi.  So, since the weather was so nice out (70˚!!), Maddy and I went on a little downtown adventure this afternoon.

Here are some pictures from out fun-filled afternoon!  Maddy tweeted her escapades through the city of Lowell on her very own Twitter account, @Madison_Maine.  First, we stopped at my dad’s office, then we went to the bank to visit all of our friends there.  After that we went on a walk with Mom to Tutto Bene’s.  Finally, we stopped at Brew’d Awakening Coffehaus with Dad for coffee and a bite to eat.  It was an eventful afternoon!

Below, I’ve got an exclusive interview with my dog, Madison.  She wants to tell you all about her exciting day out.

Me: Madison, how was you day different from most days?

Madison: [wags her tail] translation: it was very fun and interesting.  Most days when everyone goes off to work and school, I’m stuck in the crate.  It was awesome to get out of the house and see where everyone in the family goes when they’re away from me!

Me: You were so well behaved around all the people you met today, what’s your secret?

Madison: [sits up] translation: Well, I used to be a show dog before my career shift to being a full-time house dog.  I used to be under constant scrutiny and people were always watching me. I guess I just never know when the paparazzi will be around.

Me: What was your favorite part about your little adventure today?

Madison: [rolls over so I can rub her belly] translation: So many people stopped me to tell me how beautiful I am.  I love it when they do that.

Me: So I take it you had a good time.  Would you go on future adventures?

Madison: [yawns] translation: Well, I had a good time, but I’m exhausted!  I can only handle so much walking around the city, you know?

So, there you have it…a look inside the mind of my crazy dog.  If you want more insights into the life of Maddy, be sure to follow her on Twitter!

Six: 5pm. #marchphotoaday

The theme of today’s #marchphotoaday challenge was “5pm”.  Today at 5pm I was hanging out with my beeeeutiful dog, Madison. I spent all day downtown hanging out at my mom’s office and came home to playtime with Maddy.  It was awesome!  I thought about taking a picture of my watch, but I figured that Madison was a much cuter subject.

How would you represent “5pm” in a picture?

Four: (dog) bedside. #marchphotoaday

The theme of today’s picture is “bedside”. My own bedside is pretty messy, so I had originally wanted to take a picture of my bedside when I was supposed to give blood this morning. Unfortunately, I am on antibiotics because I had strep throat last weekend, so no blood giving for me :(

My mom came up with the idea of using the dog bed for the picture, and I think it’s genius! Looks so cozy, right?!

Are you doing the #marchphotoaday challenge?
