Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day! I like to enjoy Valentine’s Day by doing nice things for other people…spreading the love! V-day isn’t just for that special someone, it’s also for telling everyone that you love that they are special to you!

I also would be remiss if I didn’t include a shout-out to my special Valentine–my boyfriend, Matthew. I’m glad you’re mine :)

How will you be celebrating Valentine’s Day?

xoxo, Karoline

ps. Happy Valentine’s Day to my other valentine, Ziggy!

It’s Galentine’s Day!

Earlier today, I posted on The Prep Crew about February 13th–Galentine’s Day–and why it’s an awesome excuse to tell your girlfriends that you love them. It’s a holiday that was invented by Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation, and I think it really is worth celebrating. I have so many amazing women in my life–my mom, sister, aunts, roommates, and friends just to name a few.

So, I figured that I would dedicate today’s post to all of the amazing women that surround me. Galentine’s Day might be a made up holiday, but I certainly hope that it starts catching some steam…it’s a great idea.

Love Songs

I’ve never been one to balk at the idea of Valentine’s Day. I also don’t understand people who complain about being alone on February 14th…it’s a day to celebrate everyone you love, not just one person. Friends, family, pets, I like to show all of them that they’re special to me.

I also love the music associated with Valentine’s Day. It’s the perfect excuse to listen to your favorite love songs. I’ve put together 10 of my favorites ranging from The Beach Boys to Bruno Mars. They’re all different, but they’re all about love in some way. When you click on each title it will open up the song in YouTube…enjoy!

Thankful in 2012

2012 was a great year for me. Definitely one of the best yet! It was spent with all of the people I love, doing things that make me happy. I couldn’t ask for anything more! 2013 is sure to be interesting, it’s already throwing unexpected curves my way! I can’t wait to see how it unfolds.

Here’s what I’m looking forward to in 2013:

New experiences…I’m not mentioning anything specific just yet, but big things that I never saw coming are headed my way for 2013. One is for sure: it’s going to be an adventure!

Graduating…I never thought I’d actually say that I’m looking forward to graduation, but with just one semester left at BSU I’m actually anticipating it. There are so many new things awaiting me once I turn the tassel on my graduation cap, and I can’t wait to face them head on.

Enjoying the little things…I’ve been looking at the big picture for awhile now, so I just want to take a moment to slow things down and enjoy the small things around me.

What from 2012 are you thankful for? What are you looking forward to in the new year?

Five: sign #photoadayjune

So Fat Mum Slim has kept rolling out the great photo-a-day challenges, and I’ve been dying to participate again. I know I’m a little late on June, but I figured I could still jump in because it’s the beginning of the month. Today’s theme was sign. Instead of a road sign or a sign on a building, I chose to take a picture of sign language.

I took a sign language course at school last year, and after I graduate I plan on going to community college to get a degree in interpretation. I think it’s a beautiful language and I’m so eager to learn.

This means “I love you” in sign language!

Are you participating in June’s photo a day challenge? Leave it in the comments!

xoxo, Karoline
