Maddy’s big day out in the city!

Being on spring break, I’ve been spending a lot of time with my dog.  She’s a totally goofball, but I love her because of it.  I was at my mom’s office the other day, and one of her coworkers asked if I could bring Madison into the bank to say hi.  So, since the weather was so nice out (70˚!!), Maddy and I went on a little downtown adventure this afternoon.

Here are some pictures from out fun-filled afternoon!  Maddy tweeted her escapades through the city of Lowell on her very own Twitter account, @Madison_Maine.  First, we stopped at my dad’s office, then we went to the bank to visit all of our friends there.  After that we went on a walk with Mom to Tutto Bene’s.  Finally, we stopped at Brew’d Awakening Coffehaus with Dad for coffee and a bite to eat.  It was an eventful afternoon!

Below, I’ve got an exclusive interview with my dog, Madison.  She wants to tell you all about her exciting day out.

Me: Madison, how was you day different from most days?

Madison: [wags her tail] translation: it was very fun and interesting.  Most days when everyone goes off to work and school, I’m stuck in the crate.  It was awesome to get out of the house and see where everyone in the family goes when they’re away from me!

Me: You were so well behaved around all the people you met today, what’s your secret?

Madison: [sits up] translation: Well, I used to be a show dog before my career shift to being a full-time house dog.  I used to be under constant scrutiny and people were always watching me. I guess I just never know when the paparazzi will be around.

Me: What was your favorite part about your little adventure today?

Madison: [rolls over so I can rub her belly] translation: So many people stopped me to tell me how beautiful I am.  I love it when they do that.

Me: So I take it you had a good time.  Would you go on future adventures?

Madison: [yawns] translation: Well, I had a good time, but I’m exhausted!  I can only handle so much walking around the city, you know?

So, there you have it…a look inside the mind of my crazy dog.  If you want more insights into the life of Maddy, be sure to follow her on Twitter!

Day 3: Your neighborhood. #marchphotoaday

Today’s photo is of my neighborhood!  One thing I have always adored about the street I live on is that everyone is really close-knit, and it’s like the whole street is one big family!  Also, doesn’t it look pretty with all that snow?!  Sadly, I think most of it will be melted by the end of the day, since it’s currently pouring rain and there’s a high of 54˚.  Bummer.

Also, this may not come as a shock to those who follow my twitter, but I have become obsessed with the Instagram app on my iPhone.  If you have an iPhone, it is my most highly recommended app.  Meg blogged about it on The Prep Crew, but she’s not the only one who’s head over heels in love with it!  I made a desktop wallpaper last night with some of the shots I’ve taken and edited on the app.  I think it came out pretty cool!

It’s a fun way to display memories and look at some of my favorite things!

What do you love about your neighborhood? Are you participating in #marchphotoaday? Leave it in the comments!

Because I came home after class this morning, I got to surprise my ski team at their last practice of the season! They were so excited!! I didn’t think I’d make it back in time for practice but I’m so glad I did. :)

When was the last time you surprised someone?!

What does a conductor do?

Tonight, I’ll be attending opening night of Holiday Pops in Boston. I’m so excited! I’m going with my friend Andy, and while we’re there, we’ll be working with 980WCAP and are going to get to interview Keith Lockhart, the world-famous conductor of the Boston Pops! I am so excited!

I was talking it over with my roommate this morning, and we came up with a bunch of funny questions for Keith.  What made him want to become a conductor? Has he ever made a big mistake on stage and have the band follow along? And–perhaps the most pressing question of them all–doesn’t his arms get tired?!  We came up with five or six more, but I won’t ruin the surprise.  You’ll just have to listen to WCAP to find out!

I’m beyond excited to see the Pops. I’ve never been to any of their live performances before, but I’ve seen them on TV and they’re amazing. It’s sure to be an amazing experience!

xoxo,

Karoline
