Spring happenings!

Spring has been crazy! I’ve had so many classes,  and been so busy! Thankfully they’re all wrapping up and in a week in a half I’ll have graduated! Madness, I know. I still have mixed feelings about graduation, but I am also beyond excited to forge my own path, wherever it takes me.

Anyway, I’ve been doing some pretty fun stuff this spring, and I wanted to share some of my favorite Instagram shots from the last month or so! Here’s a description from top to bottom:

  • The building in the top picture is of Boyden Hall, the flagship building on BSU’s campus. I was walking home from work the other week and I thought that the building looked especially pretty all lit up.
  • Spring finally “sprung” and we’ve had pretty blooms on the ground and in trees.
  • Matthew and I went to my Senior Ball back in April. It was a fun night for BSU seniors to enjoy dinner and dancing with other people in our class. I had a blast catching up with friends and dancing my butt off, but it definitely left me wishing that Bridgewater has a “senior week” where we all could just celebrate together.
  • Last Thursday, my younger sister, Hannah came to visit!! There was a big end of the year party, so I invited her down to have fun! We had a blast, and I can’t wait to get back home and hang out with her.
  • A few weeks back, Matt and I unleashed out culinary sides and made salmon and Brussels sprouts for dinner. It was SO yummy! Brussels sprouts are something that I was only recently introduced to, but I’ve fallen in love. I can’t wait to find more ways to cook them up.
  • Finally, the weather here in Massachusetts has been beyond gorgeous for at least the last month. I know New York and other parts of the country have had trouble with it being chilly and the sun not really coming out, but that absolutely hasn’t been the case here! There’s been so much sunshine and warmth. Naturally, that means it’s the time of the year to sit out on the quad and do homework (one of the things I’m really going to miss about college).

What have you been up to this spring? Any fun activities?

The Driver’s License Chronicles (part 1)

My name is Karoline, and I don’t have a drivers license. Yes, I know that I’m a 20-year-old adult who should have one. Thing is, I’ve gotten along on public transportation and rides from family and friends for so long that it’s been possible to avoid getting one. However, this summer my family is making me get my license. Yeah, I’m a little scared, but it’s something I realize I have to do.

My dad recently got a Jeep Wrangler, so added to my challenge of learning to drive is learning to drive a standard. Luckily, my boyfriend graciously and patiently gave me some lessons this past semester, so I’ve got a bit of a heads up on the whole “driving a stick-shift” thing. But, I am still unsure on when to switch gears and such. Not to mention learning all of the rules of the road. It’s definitely going to be a big learning curve.

First step on my journey to becoming a licensed driver? I have to get a learner’s permit. I originally got one a way long time ago when I turned 16, however it expired on my 18th birthday. So, I need to get a new one. From what I understand, the test to get a permit is harder now than it was four years ago. I’m going to need to study. Luckily, Massachusetts has the whole drivers manual online so I can learn everything I need to know before I go in for the test.

Wish me luck!

Cape Cod weekend.

Man, oh, man have I been slacking!  I’m so sorry!! I haven’t been doing quotes, photos of the day, and I totally slacked on Blogfest.  Not good.  But, today I have some pictures to share with you :)

I originally posted these on The Prep Crew this morning, but I figured that it would go nicely on here too:

Hello everyone! I spent this past weekend exploring one of the preppiest vacation spots: Cape Cod.  Despite being from MA, I’d never been before, so it was fun to see all the beaches and cute little towns.  It’s so picturesque!  I’m officially jealous of all of my friends that get to live down there year-round.

I got to walk the beach in March, explore the cute shops of Provincetown, and marvel at all the adorable shingle cottages.  It was a marvelous weekend.

Isn’t it gorgeous?

xoxo, Karoline
