Spring happenings!

insta

Spring has been crazy! I’ve had so many classes,  and been so busy! Thankfully they’re all wrapping up and in a week in a half I’ll have graduated! Madness, I know. I still have mixed feelings about graduation, but I am also beyond excited to forge my own path, wherever it takes me.

Anyway, I’ve been doing some pretty fun stuff this spring, and I wanted to share some of my favorite Instagram shots from the last month or so! Here’s a description from top to bottom:

  • The building in the top picture is of Boyden Hall, the flagship building on BSU’s campus. I was walking home from work the other week and I thought that the building looked especially pretty all lit up.
  • Spring finally “sprung” and we’ve had pretty blooms on the ground and in trees.
  • Matthew and I went to my Senior Ball back in April. It was a fun night for BSU seniors to enjoy dinner and dancing with other people in our class. I had a blast catching up with friends and dancing my butt off, but it definitely left me wishing that Bridgewater has a “senior week” where we all could just celebrate together.
  • Last Thursday, my younger sister, Hannah came to visit!! There was a big end of the year party, so I invited her down to have fun! We had a blast, and I can’t wait to get back home and hang out with her.
  • A few weeks back, Matt and I unleashed out culinary sides and made salmon and Brussels sprouts for dinner. It was SO yummy! Brussels sprouts are something that I was only recently introduced to, but I’ve fallen in love. I can’t wait to find more ways to cook them up.
  • Finally, the weather here in Massachusetts has been beyond gorgeous for at least the last month. I know New York and other parts of the country have had trouble with it being chilly and the sun not really coming out, but that absolutely hasn’t been the case here! There’s been so much sunshine and warmth. Naturally, that means it’s the time of the year to sit out on the quad and do homework (one of the things I’m really going to miss about college).

What have you been up to this spring? Any fun activities?

Sunrise

This morning, I woke up at 5AM so that I could write the Cup of Coffee for SoxProspects. I looked out the window of the beach house and saw the most beautiful sunrise I think I’ve ever seen. The sun was glowing red as it came in through the dark clouds…it really was magical. It was the second day in a row that I’ve gotten up to see the sunrise but it definitely didn’t disappoint!

Isn’t that gorgeous? What’s the most spectacular sunrise (or sunset!) you’ve ever seen? Comment below!

Some Instagram shots from the week

Here are some of my favorite pictures that I took and shared on Instagram this week! (follow me: @karolinez!)

My Aunt Mary and Uncle Dean are currently on vacation in Italy, and they’ve been sending me postcards from all the cities they’re visiting! These are from Venice and Rome, but they sent me some from Florence too!

On Friday, my mom and I went to see Michael J. Fox speak at Middlesex Community College. He was a great speaker, really funny and inspiring. One really cool thing was that the Delorean from Back to the Future was outside the auditorium so that people could take pictures!

This week was super warm and sunny here in Lowell, so that meant one thing…sunbathing!

On Thursday night, the Lowell Spinners had their Media Day to meet the players before the season starts on Monday. It was so cool, and they gave me a press pass! I’m so excited!

I got back from a weekend on the cape Monday evening, and I was sad to leave. This is my train ticket to head home sitting on top of my suitcase.

Have you taken any cool Instagram shots lately? Share in the comments!

Maddy’s big day out in the city!

Being on spring break, I’ve been spending a lot of time with my dog.  She’s a totally goofball, but I love her because of it.  I was at my mom’s office the other day, and one of her coworkers asked if I could bring Madison into the bank to say hi.  So, since the weather was so nice out (70˚!!), Maddy and I went on a little downtown adventure this afternoon.

Here are some pictures from out fun-filled afternoon!  Maddy tweeted her escapades through the city of Lowell on her very own Twitter account, @Madison_Maine.  First, we stopped at my dad’s office, then we went to the bank to visit all of our friends there.  After that we went on a walk with Mom to Tutto Bene’s.  Finally, we stopped at Brew’d Awakening Coffehaus with Dad for coffee and a bite to eat.  It was an eventful afternoon!

Below, I’ve got an exclusive interview with my dog, Madison.  She wants to tell you all about her exciting day out.

Me: Madison, how was you day different from most days?

Madison: [wags her tail] translation: it was very fun and interesting.  Most days when everyone goes off to work and school, I’m stuck in the crate.  It was awesome to get out of the house and see where everyone in the family goes when they’re away from me!

Me: You were so well behaved around all the people you met today, what’s your secret?

Madison: [sits up] translation: Well, I used to be a show dog before my career shift to being a full-time house dog.  I used to be under constant scrutiny and people were always watching me. I guess I just never know when the paparazzi will be around.

Me: What was your favorite part about your little adventure today?

Madison: [rolls over so I can rub her belly] translation: So many people stopped me to tell me how beautiful I am.  I love it when they do that.

Me: So I take it you had a good time.  Would you go on future adventures?

Madison: [yawns] translation: Well, I had a good time, but I’m exhausted!  I can only handle so much walking around the city, you know?

So, there you have it…a look inside the mind of my crazy dog.  If you want more insights into the life of Maddy, be sure to follow her on Twitter!

Day 7: Something I wore. #marchphotoaday

Today’s topic for #marchphotoaday is something I wore.  I chose my leopard print ballet flats since they are probably the most interesting thing that I wore today.  Aren’t they cute?  It was so warm and sunny today here in Lowell.  I’m loving it!

What did you wear today?
